Vulgaires Machins - March 29
Place Saint-Bernard - Saturday March 29, 9:30pm
Four years after the anthem Aimer le mal, Vulgaires Machins is back with a hot new tune, Compter les corps. Recorded in Montreal and New York by Gus Van Go (The Stills, Priestess), this record reflects all of the energy of the band’s early influences. Incisive, ironic, the band has played almost all major events in Quebec, from Woodstock in Beauce and the Quebec City Summer Festival, to Montreal’s FrancoFolies and Quebec’s Fiesta Bérurière. The images convey the message in a series of video clips (Dieu se pique, Comme une brique, La Chasse est ouverte, Anesthésie) that are both esthetic and effective. Having completed this massive work, Vulgaires Machins are taking a well-deserved short break before the next round of madness begins with Compter les corps.
Nominated for “Album of the Year – Alternative” for Compter les corps at the 2007 ADISQ Gala.
Nominated for “Francophone Album of the Year” for Compter les corps, 2007 Juno Awards
