S. Rimsky Salgado, also known by his pseudonym Imposs, is without a doubt one of the most respected and influential artists on the Quebec hip-hop culture scene. With lyrics that firmly establish his difference, a biting flow, and sheer musical genius, his status in the community of francophone rappers is assured.

Since the release of his first album, Mentalité Moune Morne, with his band Muzion in June 1999 on the BMG label, Imposs has risen to the ranks of the most recognized urban musicians in Canada. Nominated for an ADISQ award for Songwriter/Composer of the Year, and recipient of the “Hip Hop Album of the Year” Felix award the same year, the band released its second album (J'Rêvolutionne) in 2002. It was well-received by the critics and won a second Félix in the same category. After a long stint spent touring in France, Imposs wrapped up his European gig with a remarkable show at the Zénith in Paris before returning to Montreal in 2004. Then followed a return to his roots: he appeared on community radios throughout the province, gave concerts, and distributed his music in both French and English. The results have been stellar: Imposs is truly at the top of his game in the world of hip hop in Quebec.
